GEEK FASHION 2.0
Marc Ecko is at it again. Sure the two Batman hoodies are repulsive and look like something you would see an obese 12 year old wearing but the other two are amazing.  Maybe it is the Halloween season consuming me but I would totally wear both the Friday the 13th and the Saw hoodies.  -ch

PS3 TROPHY CARD SHOWDOWN - DELAYED...AGAIN
The PS3 trophy card showdown is still delayed because ethostar is claiming that he is having sync problems, and I still think he is trying to buy more time…but whatever. In either case I am a proper sportsman and will wait. Well since we are on the topic of ethostar and his excuses, can you please stop and take a look at the newest trophy he won…ethostar got a GOLD trophy for the...

PS3 TROPHY CARD SHOWDOWN - DELAYED
Stay tuned for this weeks trophy card update because ethostar claims “that his trophy card wont sync”, what i think is happening is, ethostar is “buying more time so he can beat Uncharted 2 and try to avoid having to play 2 hours of the bouncer.” But that is just my opinion, in all honesty I think ethostar is just being a baby. -ch

My first time....
….playing a game in four years. Yes, geeks you may metaphorically stone me with your Dreamcasts. You see, my type of nerdom for the longest time has been anything related to TV Shows and comics. When I started University, I was just way too busy to make a commitment to a video game. All those levels, all those bosses….I just couldn’t get through ‘em. I think the last game...

Pretty cool list
IGN is counting down the top 100 NES games of all time. I wonder where Little Nemo Dream Master ranks? (it was easily my favorite NES game maybe just behind A Boy and His Blob). Check the list here HERE . -ch

PS3 TROPHY CARD SHOWDOWN - WEEK 5
So PS3 Trophy Card Showdown -week 4 didn’t exist because the trophy card site was down, so here I am with a glorious week 5, and what a week it was. I got my second gold trophy and incase you didn’t know “I BEAT A GAME A DAY BEFORE ITS OFFICIAL RELEASE!” and that game was the one and only UNCHARTED 2. Here are the totals for Week 5; VS. Dog Chew Controller Winner...

UNCHARTED 2 - COMPLETE
Uncharted 2 was 10 hours of pure enjoyment. I loved this game and wished it was longer. 10 hours isn’t a long time when it flies by and feels like you were playing for no more than 30 minutes. Beating Uncharted 2 last night now gives me new bragging rights, I BEAT A GAME A DAY BEFORE ITS OFFICIAL RELEASE! Not many people can claim this, but now I can and I know anytime someone brings up...

UNCHARTED 2
So a good friend and co-worker over at Awesome With A Side Of Sweet recieved an early copy of Uncharted 2 and since he has a well deserved day off/extra long weekend, and the last place he wants to be is at work to pick up a game, he told me to enjoy it for the weekend. And that is what I am going to do! I think I am going to have to put NHL10 down for a few days and conquer Uncharted 2, fogert...

Heroes: Chapter Two - Ink
Alright, so this is a tad late but take it as a little appetizer to tomorrow’ s new episode of Heroes. So Mohinder is still M.I.A and I’m a happy camper because of that. I don’t know about you guys but I’m happy there hasn’t been any lame-o monologues about life and the meaning of it. Here’s the gist of what happened last week: -Claire’s weirdo...

Final Fantasy XIII - WOW
I haven’t been a HUGE final fantasy fan since the days of FFVII, but I have a funny feeling FFXIII will suck me back into the genre. Take a look for yourself. -ch

PSPgo
Today marks the official launch of the PSPgo and the reviews are mixed. I was fortunate enough to be one of the first Canadians to try the go, months before it’s release, and I loved it. Unfortunately not everyone is a fan and claim that the go is the final nail in the PSP coffin. I personally feel that couldn’t be further from the truth. I think the go is going to not only be an...

Brian Austin Green goes Iron Ma, er, Metallo
So tonight’s Smallville episode is supposed to feature the moment John Corben (Brian Austin Green) becomes Metallo, the man with a heart of go…um…Kryptonite. It’s totally rippin’ off Iron Man but I’m digging it. Thank goodness they actually show his machine parts. I was thinking they were going to cop out a la Cyborg-styles. -LV

COMICS YOU SHOULD BE READING - SECRET WARRIORS
When Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev team up you better take notice. The Bendis/Maleev, writer/artist punch is one of the best in the industry, comparable to the Johns/Reis combo over at DC. The last time we saw Bendis/Maleev together was when they were creating one of my all time favorite books, Vol. 2 of Daredevil, and completely turning around the Man Without Fear.  To be honest I am not...

PS3 Trophy Card Showdown - Week 3
Looks like Mr. Ethos is going to have to play a painful hour of The Bouncer…Sucker. At the rate Prince of Persia generously gives out trophies I am guessing he may have to play another hour next week. Hopefully I can talk Ethos into doing a guest post breaking down each painful minute he is forced to play the bouncer. VS. I would like to thank Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for helping me...

Public Enemies - Leaked
I don’t feel guilty consuming leaked material when I know for a fact that I will be purchasing it the minute it is available for public consumption. Thus I am sharing this link with you hoping you will only view this leaked and or pirated material as soon as it becomes available. The only way to ensure the future production of these works of art will be to purchase them and show our...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - COMPLETE
I just finished Marvel UA2 and I am glad I bought it. The game was a ton of fun, there were no real new additions to the sequel but that is what made it great. You knew what you were getting when you pooped the disc into the system, a fun, traditional arcade style beat em up, starring a big chunk of the Marvel (Disney) universe.  The game follows the Civil War story-line with a surprise ending...

Steelbook Swoon: Terminator: Sarah Connor...
After the release of Watchmen on Blu-Ray Steelbook, I realized that the majority of new releases in steelbook were no longer going to be put out for DVDs. Kind of understandable since they’re trying to push Blu-Ray. Anyways, to my delight, Best Buy U.S. has decided to continue the steelbook tradition for Season 2 of TSCC. It will go lovely with my autographed season 1 steelbook. Thank you,...

Heroes 4x01-4x02 (Spoilers)
So according to Herosite.net, the two-hour premiere didn’t do too well on the ratings front…not surprised considering the unheroic quality of last season. The episode starts off with Samuel Sullivan, a carnival leader of sorts, who subs in for Mohinder in the monologue front. It’s a whole lot of ‘huh’ happening but Robert Knepper looks like he’s going to be a...

PS3 Trophy Card Showdown - Week 2
With week 2 officially over let’s see how ethos and I stack up. VS. Turns out I am still holding onto the lead thus making me the holder of the Dog Chew controller for 2 in a row. With the few Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 trophies I picked up I gained a little more ground but Ethos still doesn’t have to play The Bouncer since the 45,000 rank mark hasn’t been reached. Also...

Pre-Season Ramble: Heroes Season 4
“Greater Evil? Greater good?” Is that the best they could come up with? To say that Heroes has had a sketchy past story-wise is an understatement at best. I’m one of those geeks who will continue to watch genre shows from the beginning to the end even if the quality is kind of questionable (Example: Birds of Prey). While people thought Season 2 of Heroes was lackluster, I...

PS3 Trophy Card Showdown - Week 1
Time to weigh in on the PS3 Trophy Card Showdown, lets see who the victor is…it looks like I am going to be the holder of the covenent Dog Chew Controller for the next 7 days but neither of us is going to be forced to play a painful hour of The Bouncer. One week into the competition and things have been heating up, here are some of my personal highlights (there are only 2) - beating Batman...

FanExpo+Metric=Heaven
So I love Metric but when you combine the haunting vocals of Emily Haines with a beautifully shot montage of cosplayers….damn…Take a look for yourself. According to the fella that shot this, he used a Canon 5D Mark 2. I’m jealous of his equipment. -LV

Commence Operation Memory - Half Successful
So Operation Memory was half successful. The new 500 gig hard drive is in and working but some how in the transfer process of my old save files something has gone terribly wrong. It will process the files to 99 percent complete then an error message comes up. This doesn’t have me terribly worried because I still have the old hard drive and I am thinking that if I put the old 60 gig hard...

Commence Operation Memory
I have taken it upon myself to turn my first gen 60 gig ps3 into a beastly 500 gig monster for all things media.  I have noticed lately that with each new game I boot up, I have to go back in and delete older save files and that really bugs me especially since I wanted to go back and kick more ass in Uncharted only to realize that all those files were sacrificed so I could run Infamous. The days...

Bittersweet
Last night I beat Arkham Asylum and it is truly bittersweet. The bitter side is that I just finished one of my absolute favorite games from the past 10 years, meaning that the story is over, the book is closed. The sweet part is the fact that the game sucked me in, left a very open ended ending (with room for a sequel?) and that I get to go back and try to crack all of the riddlers riddles, and...

PS3 Trophy Card Showdown - Revisions
So the race to the 50k race with Ethos proved to be a much easier challenge than first expected. I played Batman: Arkham Asylum for about an hour and a half today, achieving a whopping 3 trophies and it brought me to 50,060th so Ethos and I have mutually decided on changing the showdown and upping the anti. So here are the official rules for the revised showdown; Every Monday at 9:00 am a weekly...

PS3 Trophy Card Showdown
A fellow blogger/all round great dude over at riddlethos recently purchased a PS3 and in a very short time has started to catch up to me in the world rankings. Seeing as how I am a very lazy gamer and would like to break the 50,000 mark before 2010, I decide to compete with Mr. Ethos in a 50k race (not a 50 kilometer race because that is just ridiculous and requires leaving the comforts of my...

PS3 Trophy Card - I FAIL
So I came across a pretty geeky/cool website the other day that allows you to basically see your PS3 trophies online. The site tells you all the trophies you have received, where you rank amongst all other playstation 3 players and what percentage of all available PS3 trophies you have. After seeing how poorly I ranked I have come to the conclusion that I am a very lazy gamer, and I plan on...

CH+LV+Smallville DVDs=Good Day
So every now and then we get free stuff but it’s always the unexpected ones that truly titillate our geeky tendencies. Today around the office, mysterious “TV Dinner” trays were delivered to a select few but unlike the usual size, they pretty much looked like a family-sized frozen lasagna tray. Anyways, when you opened it, there was a goulash of TV dvds like Fringe, Smallville,...

So as Fall is about to creep into our lives, it’s a perfect time to whip out the geek apparel and justify it’s use for the sake of warmth. Here is what I’ll be rocking in the coming weeks: Bape Batman Hoodie: Bape x DC Slusho Shirt (as seen in Cloverfield) Now, all I need is this: -LV

Live-action adaptations of Anime.
So a couple days ago CH lamented about the lack of good game to movie adaptations and I gotta say this has also applied to the Anime genre. So back in elementary school I was a huge anime fan and it all started because of Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. Over a decade later, I found out that they were making a Dragon Ball Z live-action movie and although, it looked terribly cheesy, I saw it for the...

Seeing as how I am a huge Playstation Fanboy I geekgasm’d all over my jeans when I heard that Sony was casting for their very own online series, The Tester. I couldn’t even sit through the video because my excitement peaked and I had to tell all my friends. After spreading the word and looking into the contest requirements I was left heart broken. Hey folks, So during the FanExpo ‘09, I got the opportunity to have a quick chat with Thomas Dekker, Terminator: TSCC’s John Connor, where he broke his vow of silence and gave me some tidbits about what would have happened in Season 3 had it not been canceled. Terminator fans. Prepare to geek out. -LV

GAMER - The Movie
As a gamer and lover of cheesy action films, I will probably end up seeing Mark Neveldine’s new movie Gamer, which stars Gerard Butler and Ludacris of all people. I know this movie isn’t going to be winning any awards any time soon, but it looks like stupid brain dead fun, much like Death Race or any other bone head action flick. To date there hasn’t been a decent video game...

Go Go MMA Ranger
Apparently Jason David Frank, Tommy the Green Ranger is now an MMA fighter. I wonder if his fight is going to go direct to video like his last movie. I would actually pay to see him fight because he was my favorite ranger when I was younger and he could kick some serious putty butt. Also check out his kick ass shirt “Jesus didn’t tap” -ch

A Great Way To Start A Monday Morning
So I walked into work today, a little groggy after a long yet amazing weekend at the 2009 Toronto Fan Expo and I found this beautiful little gem on my desk. This movie isn’t for everyone but it is amazing none-the-less. Think Rachel-Leigh Cook’s “She’s All That” mixed with the torture elements of Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs”. Talk about...

Fan Expo - Day 3
Today marks the end of the 2009 Fan Expo and all in all I think it was a success. I met some pretty cool people both of the celebrity and normal “nature” and some people I hope I will never bump into again “GOOBLE-BOMB” and Udo Kier (Andy Warhol’s Dracula) both of whom absolutely terrified me. Also I was able to cross a few things off of my 2009 Fan Expo Bucket list. ...

Fan Expo was an absolute zoo today. It was literally packed from wall to wall with geeks of all ages. I wasn’t able to accomplish everything I wanted today but the day wasn’t a total waste, I was able to cross a few things off of my 2009 Fan Expo Bucket List. Day 1
Aside from some brief bouts with miscellaneous B.O., Day 1 was a success. DC Comics titillated the geeky senses with a buffet of free comics and not the lame kind either. Here’s are some snapshots starting with an ambiguously-angled shot of my swag/signed Terminator steelbook. Over and out. LV
